It’s legit not safe for a solo traveller from abroad in India. I’d say get out as soon as you can. It might be uncomfortable only, but you never know if things go south. There are many assholes who will keep observing you. I wish nothing bad happens to you. But it’s seriously not safe to travel solo in India. India and Sri Lanka are both bad for solo women travelers. I lost count how many times western girls used me as a pretend boyfriend in India.
