Bullshit. Tell them you can’t do the Philadelphia Eagles Have No Fear Underdog Is Here Shirt In addition,I will do this management work just yet but you’ll wait and see how they do with the pay increase. If you’re doing the work, you get the increased compensation. If they don’t like how you handle the additional responsibilities they can fire or demote you, and adjust your pay. It’s a BS game the company is playing, and if you are looking to “grow”, this isn’t the place for you. That being said, get the experience and the title and bounce as soon as you can for more money and greener pastures. Get it in writing with a firm date for the decision. Usually the time frame for a probationary period is 90 days in rare cases 6 mo. Anything more than that and you are just a cost savings to them doing more work for the same money. An employer tried to do the same with me a few years back. I said I would take over the Supervisor role if I got a promotion and pay raise. Otherwise, I am not interested. I left the company for a great manager role and huge pay increase 6 months later. Don’t accept what they are currently offering or really not offering.

Unfortunately, they can’t have a duties rise just yet. You can take the Philadelphia Eagles Have No Fear Underdog Is Here Shirt In addition,I will do this job once they start paying a manager-level salary, and not a day before. Personally, I’d be fine with delaying the pay bump. But title now or I don’t do it. That way, you can at least claim that title in your next job search. That also sends the message that you will be looking if they don’t come through with the money. First, ask what the average pay is for this position company-wide. Then add at least 10% to that number because they are gonna lie their asses off. Next, ask to schedule an evaluation in 3 months that includes a pay raise, unless specific objectives have not been met (makes sure you get the objectives in writing as well). Calculate the requested raise to have you at 15 – 20% under the average pay in … I’m gonna say 18 months (so 6 evaluations). State that you wish to continue the evaluation and raises until you are at approximately 15 – 20% under the average pay. Rinse and repeat until your pay is at an appropriate level. Of course, get this all in writing. By “in writing” I mean you write it up in a company email and cc HR and the Owner. State in the email that you will accept the title change as agreement to your proposal and the beginning of the clock for the evaluations. Do this before you start taking on the additional duties. If you get push back on the email, I’d pass on the “promotion,” but would immediately start job searching.
