The 2000’s were a bad time for eyebrows, LOL. My poor over plucked brows never recovered. RIP eyebrows. Yep, so glad I never fucked with mine back then. I have a friend who’s eyebrows never grew back after she waxed them off in her 2000’s emo phase. Now that you mention it, the 30’s brow and 2000’s brow were quite similar, the 30’s just drew the tails longer. Yep. Lots of us learned the hard way that constantly over plucked eyebrows don’t grow back. Thankfully mine aren’t pencil thin, but I would definitely like them to be a lot thicker!!! I was in high school during that time and clothes were so ill fitting and awkward (on women mainly). I am so glad we have moved on. Depressingly, I saw one of my favourite independent jeans brands (rollas) is now making gross low rise. They always had a 70s high waisted vibe so it’s such a shame. I’m counting on Levi’s now to hold the line. Because some designers made their brand new shirts so shear your could see the design on your bra (eyeing you Hollister >.>) As a Full Adult in those times, when “tissue tees” came out, I was like “what am I supposed to do with this? I hate layering t-shirts, and this is ugly.” NOT coincidentally, at the same time there was a crisis in the cotton market and this was a cost-cutting measure. When the fashion passed, the crap quality stayed and quality has never returned.

I have an Old Navy t-shirt that is 100% cotton that I have worn since 2005. It is still good. QUALITY USED TO BE THAT GOOD EVERYWHERE and we didn’t even think about it. Very interesting!! It makes sense! I remember when suddenly it felt like I could never not feel sweaty and all my shirts balled up and everything was suddenly 50% elastic! Especially the ones that were subverting the status quo – I am thinking McQueen specifically here, that tailoring… glorious. Seriously runway high end fashion was at its PEAK the talent was booming the creativity and I feel that it all died along with Alexander McQueen may he rest in peace
