Loved the series from the get go and played them all in order and just watched how they fell apart after 3 (4s modern day is where I feel it started to tank). We need that stealth feel back and a narrative that allows us to connect with the characters and issues at hand all the while maintaining the lore. I loved Odyssey and Origins for the characters and the historical setting, but I miss the more diverse and urban gameplay of the previous games.

People continue to take a dump on anything not open world RPG, as if games like Uncharted and God of War aren’t universally praised as masterpieces. So frustrating.

I’d take a 15 hour experience with tight, focused narrative and game design over a “massive open world” that’s largely empty and has repetitive missions and a lagging plot. Yeah God of War is probably one of my favorite games now and it is very linear. Also performed very well, especially for a ps4 exclusive. AC linear gameplay is already solid, Just write a good story, get some good voice actors, and it will be a huge success.
