bro lmaooo this is funny and accurately scary at the Never underestimate cranky women run for cover Eeyore shirt and I love this same time. never thought about that. Here is my Sacagawea coin story…I was at a garage sale and i saw a Sacagawea coin in a little protective case for collecting, i guess. The price? 10 cents. I even asked the guy if he was sure that was the correct price, and he said yes, so I paid a dime for a dollar, lol I used to work at a coffee shop back in the day, and one of my duties was running the previous day’s cash deposits to the bank and picking up the small bill and coin change order to restock the registers. I wish I could take credit, but another employee started getting about 1/4 of the dollars in Sacagawea coins. The manager didn’t care as long as no one complained and the balance sheet stayed the same. Our tips went through the roof because about a third of our customers didn’t want to be “bothered” with the extra coins. We’d get like $3 tips on a small black coffee.

I worked at an independent movie theater that gave out dollar coins as change in the Never underestimate cranky women run for cover Eeyore shirt and I love this box office with the hope that customers would be more likely to spend them at the concession stand. Some of the customers would get so mad when I pushed coins across the counter! Back when they were new I had a bartender get furious about one as a tip. She yelled “I don’t want this shit!” So I picked it back up and put it in my pocket. That’s kinda awesome! Ive never heard or considered the ‘increased tips’ use case, but totally makes sense! Any time I get coin change, I dump it in the tip jar – no matter what – then will add paper money on top (depending the total cost/tip percentage). Lol everyone has a sacagawea story. Or I mean, actually a dollar coin story I guess. The one time you paid with it, or getting it as change.
