It’s going to be loud, sweaty, intense, maybe even a bit scary but there is nothing to worry about. Bring ear plugs and don´t be afraid to talk to strangers. I don’t know about other music genres but i never attended a metal concert or festival without finding new friends 🙂 Even tho a lot of people there might look scary, most of them are very nice and love to share their joy with others (especially if you tell them it’s your first concert ever) Have fun and if you, by any chance, are attending the Mj Classic T-Shirt but in fact I love this concert in austria on the 25th, hit me up and i will buy you a beer! I am about 180cm, relatively slim. When I watched Rammstein, I stood up front. It was me and seemingly 2000 ppl who were 200cm and wide as bulls. They would wave their hands around uncontrollably to the music, and apparently 200cm ppl hands are mostly waived in 180cm height, so the meaning of headbanging took on a whole new meaning for me.

Only solace I take is that this was in 2002 and now 20y later as a 37y old I can still remember, so I must have managed to escape with only minimal head injury. You can totally smoke weed in concerts. I’m 39 and just realized this when I went to the Mj Classic T-Shirt but in fact I love this deftones lol. And it reeeeeeally helps to cover up the border odors which were intense. Rammstein is a great band to be your first concert. They put on an amazing show and the pyrotechnics are actually scary! Have a large bottle of water with you. Have a pack or tissues for potential shitting as public toilets are horrific. Took my son to my first concert in years. Great venue, great opening act, main act was… Ok, but it was the drunk 6’5″ guy standing in front of me, and the teenager and his awkward girlfriend obsessively clapping off beat as hard as possible that made me realize I prefer my music as more of a solo experience. The first concert/gig I ever went to was Dragonforce. I wasn’t a fan but my friend had an extra ticket so I thought why not. The support band were terrible and played for what felt like an eternity, my legs were tired, and I was bored out my mind, felt like I was being tortured, forced to stand in a tight crowd and just stare at something that I wasn’t interested in. Finally Dragonforce came out but I was already ready to go home. After about 30 minutes my legs aching even more and I was just feeling really uncomfortable. Suddenly I started to get pins and needles in my whole body and my eyesight went all blurry, I turned to my friend who at this point I couldn’t even see and said “I can’t see”, he laughed and wondered what the fuck I was talking about. The next thing I know I wake up and I’m being dragged across the floor through the crowd towards the back door. I regained consciousness, sat down and drank some water. I remember being happy that I had passed out because I got to take a break from the shit show. Eventually I came around, had a beer and managed watched the rest of the show.
