Even my parents admit that. And they were desperate for a grandchild. I have no regrets. It’s the answer if you don’t want children. Too many women are coerced into having children when it’s not what they really want, and it’s so obvious. I run into women like this often, and while they LOVE their kids in the way all mothers do, they don’t like them and they’re not happy. Do yourself a service: find yourself a doc that will do something like tubal ligation and just get it done. I tried doing this when I was your age (about ten years back) and couldn’t find a doctor willing to do so. Luckily that’s changed. Good luck. If you don’t want kids for personal and financial reasons, that is absolutely fine. However, “what the world will be like in 50 years time” is not a good reason IMHO. When I was younger, a global thermonuclear war seemed almost inevitable, the ozone layer was disappearing, acid rain was killing freshwater lakes, etc. The future looked very bleak. Yet here we still are 30+ years later, and I now have two college-age children. Climate change is scary but I think we will eventually find solutions and adaptations.

The main thing is that it is a personal answer, and you shouldn’t let yourself be pressured into changing it, nor should you pressure or shame someone for their decision (either way). You definitely don’t have to have kids if you don’t want them. And you don’t have to justify yourself to others about not wanting kids. Kids are hard work, and require a lifetime of support and care sometimes. Too many kids are brought into this world by shitty people and end up abused or in the system. Live a child free life if that is what you want.. Your life, live how you want it. Just keep in mind 35+ is considered geriatric pregnancy. The percentage of complications rises. It’s awesome. My partner and I wanted kids when we met, changed our minds fairly quickly, and couldn’t be happier. There’s always adoption down the road If you’re worried about the economy in 50 years, then you should have kids. No kids means no one to take care of you in your old age if the government cannot do so. Since the government will be over $100 trillion in debt by that time, and I have no expectation that social social security or medicaid will still be paying out by then. The coffers are already dry. This is why people have had.do many kids throughout human history. You take care of kids when they are young, and they take care of you when you’re old. We truly do live in a privileged time that so many people feel they are in a position to choose to have kids or not. There is no objective answer. It’s all down to how you personally feel about it. I don’t want kids, either. Live your life how you want. Not because you feel obligated to live it a certain way.
