Not saying it doesn’t happen, and I wouldn’t be surprised, just pointing out how ridiculous it is if that happens. Being fired for asking for a raise? Only in America right? In Florida an employer does not need ANY reason to terminate 1, 2 or as many employees as it feels like. It’s a Right to Work state. P.S. Unions are worthless in our state just keeping the Logo siouxsie and the banshees classic shirt it is in the first place but leadership happy certainly not the labor force. Is this what communists think? No boss is going to think “This person just asked for a raise so I’m going to fire them.” If they fire you, they have to pay unemployment. Most places cut your hours until you quit, that way they owe you nothing Yup, that personally happened to me after being on leave for approximately 2 weeks after a suicide attempt. When I got back my hours were cut drastically, I complained and my boss claimed working regular hours might add to my stress and I should work less which did the exact opposite by reducing my income. You boycott magazines for telling people the truth? Wow, that really says a lot about you, and whatever drugs you’ve been boofing. “I don’t like looking at anything I disagree with because what if it makes me self reflect?? What if I realize a teen magazine having this kind of commentary means we have ventured into a dystopian way of life?? Will I have to look at my choices? Abhorrent.” It isn’t “part of the curriculum”. There has been a ton of modern propaganda to label these thoughts as “Marxist” so.

A national labor board with no enforcement from a national labor movement and a working class identity and solidarity becomes a just an impossible amount of of attorneys attorneys for the Logo siouxsie and the banshees classic shirt it is in the first place but people treated unjustly by their boss. We all can’t just hope the law and the government will help. The people still enforce this stuff in the streets. In America can’t you be fired for any other reason though. I’ve heard of at will employment and it sounds scary as fuck. Just because someone says ‘this is illegal and they can’t do that’ never assume that they won’t try. Unless you can afford to fight it…which most can’t…this will not stop anyone from doing it. Knowing the laws aren’t an automatic protection from abuse from happening. You can still be fired with without cause. If an employer wanted to fire you, they would simply wait an appropriate amount of time and ensure your firing had no link to the requested raise. In fact, a smart employer would, in fact, grant the raise first. These people aren’t stupid.
