Nowadays my AC stays on 70, sometimes 72 if I have people over and I remember to change it. At this point it’s probably just as much about the ambient noise. If your air isn’t blasting her in the face when you get up for the bathroom, she should be a little more flexible. I try to make sure the fan is angled that way so it doesn’t happen. My boyfriend sleeps with a fan and I don’t like it so I fall asleep with headphones in listening to tv or a podcast under blankets. He turns the fan down and I cover up. It’s a compromise. It’s something she could get used to or you could get used to not doing. Do you have a fan for the breeze or the white noise? Does she hate the sound or the breeze?

I cannot sleep without a fan and my partner was new to it but completely got used to it after a week. I did install an overhead before she moved it bc I think they are quieter. Completely ignoring whether you are fat or not, you need to compromise with your gf or else why tf did you left her move in? I literally sleep with a window AC unit over my head, and a fan on to increase circulation, and I sleep like a rock most nights. That said, you probably should have discussed that with her before she moved in so she knew about it, though. I literally have a fan on me as I type this and I know that my cat hates the air so I angle it in a way so it doesn’t hit the lower corner of the bed out of respect for her. Your girlfriend is a human and you never thought about whether she’d want air blowing on her all night? Ideally there needs to be a compromise (lower setting, different angle, quieter fan, invest in cooler bedding, etc.. EDIT: I overlooked that OP said she knew beforehand. I do think there will need to be compromises if he plans to share a bed with anyone, though. Not everyone is going to be happy with having air blown on them all night. Even if you weren’t overweight at all, you’d still want the fan, either because you’re hot, like the sound or are just used to it at this point. I sleep with a fan and the TV on and playing TikTok lives on my phone. And I know that if I get into a relationship, I’ll want separate sleeping areas for that reason because I know I’ve got a lot going on. Maybe you should talk with her about that…. if you even want to stay together after she snapped like that on something so small. It seems like she is used to getting whatever she wants and when you didn’t give it to her, she swings wild until you feel bad and cave. Not very healthy to be around. If you can’t compromise on something as trivial as this without a fight, I’m afraid there isn’t much hope for your relationship dude.
