I like the I’m Not The Step Dad Just The Dad That Stepped Up T-Shirt in other words I will buy this esthetics of purses and appreciate the fashion of them but for me a slouchy purse that either converts into a medium sized backpack or is an actual backpack works best. I like my hands to be free and it holds all my random stuff. My feelings on purses are pretty much identical to yours! The ones I’ve found that I love are this one (with zipper) which I carry most days, this one for fancier occasions or when I’m schlepping less stuff, and this one when I want to carry something non-leather. They all work really well for me and fit in nicely with my semi-femme/semi-masc style. I’m purely a functional bag user (backpacks, canvas tote bags, fanny packs) so I feel your struggle. I have started looking into purses mainly for events like parties, weddings, etc. and even then I think about them in the most practical sense. How will I use them? Do I have outfits that will match them? If it’s something I’m really only going to wear super sparingly, I’m not going to drop hella stacks on it. I’ve been doing research on the “gaps” in my wardrobe and have been going from there. Just bought a small, fun crossbody that fits with most of my wardrobe and style for somewhat dressy events. Now I need to find one that’s a bit more “refined” and lighter color for weddings…
