Then you heard wrong. Donations to charity are printed on the receipt for your taxes. Claiming your donation on their own taxes or keeping the money to recoup their donation is tax fraud, a felony. You think their accountants are going to risk jail?

Would you like to round up for donations?’ Is short and sweet, and if I continue by saying ‘Furry Fast Food matches all donations that goes towards X Children’s’ then people are more likely to just get aggravated. They want to get their stuff and leave. I get it. Me too.
