That might depend on the country you are working in. However, in any Western country, living in a modern progressive society, almost nobody should give a shit about it. Unless you live in a very religious environment, working for a religious institution, or working with older people, having mainly old people as customers, then chances are that those people will frown upon you wearing earrings. Until quite recently it was for example unthinkable that a banker would not wear a suit. That was mainly because how the older folks were raised and internalized what a professional get up is, they would just think someone in a suit is more competent and someone wearing a tshirt is an incomptetent slacker. But times have luckily changed or at least in the process of changing and becoming more accepting of different looks.
