Her bringing up your weight was uncalled for. I don’t think you’re wrong, it’s a comfort thing, but maybe you can come to some kind of compromise, like a soundless fan if that’s the issue, or a more direct one that points to only your side. Maybe lower the temp of the room without the fan and see if you can sleep that way.

I play audiobooks or YouTube when I go to bed and it really helps me drop off fast. The fan is your way of doing it. Also, it may be worth looking into buying a quieter fan. While sleeping in two separate bedrooms has a lot of unnecessary stigma, its actually huge for couples with problems like this. If not sleeping in the same bed is that big of an issue for someone, they have bigger problems to worry about. My wife and I had this problem. Get a travel fan. They’re small. You can aim it at your face and stay cool, but it won’t displace enough air for her to feel it on the far side of you. My girlfriend doesn’t really like that I have to keep a fan on or I can’t sleep. I get too warm despite the room being a comfortable temperature. I guess I’m a bit hot headed as the rest of my body is under the covers. Honestly – don’t feel bad. My boyfriend has always slept with a fan on and it bothers me to all hell but I learned that there are more important things in life that should bother me rather than a stupid fan during the night. Although I do believe you should talk to her about it and not just let it sit. Maybe switch sides of the bed if it’s a standing fan or have it blow in a different direction? Ok well besides the first problem, the fact that her go to was to body shame you, this relationship sounds unhealthy. Lol get a window ac unit and just turn it on full blast when you go to sleep she’ll beg for the fan back or cuddle harder. I have had the same problem I cannot sleep if it’s not cold.
