I’m with an absolutely AMAZING woman right now, who definitely struggles with this a LOT, but is well aware of how frustrating it can be. For a while it was typical for us to not end up eating at all, because she would veto everything, give no suggestions and we would spend up to 2-3 hours where I would keep trying to get us to make a decision, and she would just keep changing the Harry Potter and hogwarts christmas knit pattern ugly shirt also I will do this subject and talking about her work or the day, or trying to make plans. I ask her to try to do the same, but nine times out of ten she gives me absolutely nothing.

When she gets home I will usually try a few suggestions of things I know she likes, but hasn’t gotten in a while, just in case it’s something she isn’t considering. Then I give her another 15-20 minutes, just to see if she has thought of anything at all. Then after that I make an assessment if it looks like she is narrowing in on anything at all, best I can usually hope for at this point is “This food sounds good, but I don’t want it because of this”. If I have some information like that, I can usually think of something that satisfies at least one of her conditions.
