Wear and tear is not the Excavator Dad The Man The Myth The Legend Excavator shirt Furthermore, I will do this tenants responsibility. They can’t even deduct that off your deposit. If they do you can contact ombudsman. Even if you don’t get your deposit back from the deposit scheme. You have reported a few things that they have not yet repaired if anything you can sue them for the safety risk it involves. A few years ago we had a bastard of a landlord. This website had a lot of helpful advice. Have a read and stick to your guns! I’m sure he does, but most of those things are his problem as a landlord anyway. No deposit? No problem! Wish him the best of British getting all that through a small claims court. That’s a really shitty landlord. The boiler, oven and shower should have been repaired or replaced. As you didn’t leave a deposit, all you need to do is give the place a good clean and hand over the keys. LL is expecting a lot, and is dreaming. You’re a tenant, not an owner. You paid your rent, your obligation was met every month. Please make sure to take pictures of every room, and everything in it before you leave. Floors, carpets, window coverings, etc and make sure to date/time stamp them. As well, I would take a walk through video too. Pics and videos will help protect you. If the LL shows up before you move out, I would video any interactions with him/her too. The landlord is responsible for maintaining his property for wear and tear. Is there any proof of remedial works and upkeep done on the property over the last decade? I was in a similar position, rented a place for 10 years and when the pandemic hit he needed the house back. Him and his partner split, he couldn’t find anywhere so he wanted the house back.

The rental broke a lot of laws towards the Excavator Dad The Man The Myth The Legend Excavator shirt Furthermore, I will do this end, and was morally dubious. No gas checks, lots of broken things and issues I raised and he didn’t bother with. Leaking roof, and general wear and tear. They didn’t dare touch the deposit (which was in a scheme) since the knew if they tried to change me for anything I’d raise all the problems they ignore and would cause them problems Assuming you have the deposit in a scheme, don’t worry. If they have broken the law and understand this – they won’t take it further as all they will do will be to implicate themselves. Let them expect what they want. You shouldn’t pay shit it’s not your home. If you paid security despot, we’ll that’s always as good as gone. But don’t give one cent to them. Landlords, if they’re smart, should budget a percentage of rent each month for CapEx.
