I would start out by going on a trip somewhere that’s just a few hours from home. Book an airbnb (I always suggest booking with a female host who has like several, 30+ high ratings) or find a highly rated hostel with a girls dorm. NoLa has some fun hostels and is a v fun place to travel. Best trip of my life was traveling solo to Greece! Just do it, I spent too many years waiting for people’s schedules and whims to line up with mine and when I finally went by myself… I made more friends on that trip than I ever did before, had the End It Dragons Shirt But I will love this freedom to change plans when I felt like it, and didn’t have anyone being a wet blanket- lazy, sick, too tired etc. I took my first solo trip at 24 when i had a 4 day long weekend. This is what I was going to suggest. There’s a group called Contiki tours that specializes in young adults traveling. Traveling solo with them is no issue. You make friends right away with your tour mates. Do that once or twice and you’ll feel at home doing it by yourself. Or even better, maybe you make a friend or two who will join you in your future adventures. Or have the End It Dragons Shirt But I will love this best of both worlds – do a G Adventures/Intrepid etc trip and tag on a few days by yourself at the start or end of the trip. Did that once in Cuba and had a great few days wandering around Havana by myself before joining a tour group to see the rest of the island. I own a travel agency, and they are our go-to for this kind of young solo traveler who isn’t ready to step out on their own. Our clients become passionately loyal to that brand, and even introverts find friends on their trips. Just be prepared to meet or exceed the physical requirements for a trip. They are not joking about the requirements. I’d say begin with shorter trips or weekend getaways to nearby cities or regions to gain confidence and experience before embarking on longer journeys. Once you’re in a new place, join organized group tours to destinations you’re interested in. It’s a great way to meet people and explore new places in a safe and structured way.

If you get a bit away from the main touristy cities, Europe’s lovely in the summertime.
Italy in the End It Dragons Shirt But I will love this summer is brutally hot and humid. Would recommend another time to visit if you can. It’s doable but Italy has a lot of outdoor sites and I find I enjoy them much less if I’m drenched in sweat I waited YEARS to travel because friends were always backing out, or I would break-up with girlfriends. Now I tell people when and where I’m going and if they want to come along, great. So far no one has come along and that’s fine. Taking the normal precautions will usually be enough. Research cities/countries before dropping in. Check your government webpage to see if any travel advisories exist. Get a female only hostel dorm room. You’re 25, so you likely won’t be alone for most of your trip. I meet people and hang out with people all the time in my travels. Traveling is the only time I break out and become a social butterfly.
In 2 decades of traveling, I’ve faced a lot of character building situations. Lol. Nothing violent. You become really good at problem solving and not losing your head at every problem. For instance I let a friend join me once who’d never traveled abroad. She lost her phone a week into the End It Dragons Shirt But I will love this trip and had a week of solo travel after leaving me. When I was younger, I would always wind up hitting it off with someone and then going to lunch or drinks or something after. Sandemann’s also usually has a (paid) pub crawl a couple times a week too, so it can be fun for a night out with a bunch of new people. It’s like a ready-made group of friends.
But really, go now. Once you’re in your 30s, you’re no longer a young traveler, and it gets much harder to have those spontaneous experiences with other young people. Go travel by yourself. I do it often and started going to nearby states and eventually started traveling abroad. I always say that as long as I have data on my phone I’m all set. Go alone. That’s how I first got to leave Canada and see the End It Dragons Shirt But I will love this UK. I was 24 and it ignited a love of travel that’s lasted my whole life. I stayed in hostels and was perfectly safe (and this was before cell phones). Use good sense to stay safe, but don’t let fear stop you. I’m booking a few trips this year solo! I think that has to be the way to go Go by yourself. Book some group tour for young people – there are some. Stay in hostels. I’ve just come back from a week alone in Scotland and did half of it as part of a group tour. I’m 25F and the other were a lot older including families but we all clicked on and had fun. Then I did the second half of the trip alone and loved it as well. It was nice not being alone the entire trip.

Nothing wrong with diversity. You don’t. No matter what you do, there is a risk associated with it. You can die in a traffic accident while you’re traveling and you can die in a traffic accident in your own town. Not much difference, though while traveling the risks may be a bit higher as you spend more time in traffic and depending on where you go traffic may be a bit more dangerous or safer than at home. Without risk there is no reward. Obviously you may debate what the right balance is, but just focusing on ‘remaining safe’ is the wrong approach. If remaining safe is the only concern you don’t get out of bed, and even then… most people die in bed. Go out and explore on your own! I started traveling at the age of 24 and it was the first time I traveled internationally as an adult. Do it while you’re still young, it can get a little pricy once you start traveling with a spouse and kids. Enjoy the beauty of this wonderful world!
Don’t be afraid to join a small tour group if you’re going somewhere new and you haven’t travelled much before! Many companies have trips targeted at young people. Travelling is never risk free but you would be with a guide who would know local customs and traditions as well as having local contacts and assistance in an emergency. Also, what I have done and really enjoyed is a kind of mix and match. So a few days exploring somewhere on my End It Dragons Shirt But I will love this own and then a few days with a tour operator on a trip to somewhere maybe difficult to get to or some kind of special activity. A friend of mine did a Contiki group to italy when she was 22 and loved it. I’m a woman and I really enjoy solo travel. I find it very freeing. I can plan (or not plan) and do whatever I want. I’m more careful at night of course and there are places I wouldn’t feel comfortable traveling on my own, but I highly recommend it. I agree with what someone else said – start small. Maybe a weekend trip to somewhere within your country. You could also look into tour groups as you wouldn’t be totally alone. Hell you may even meet some travel buddies for the future in your tour group!
I love that so many women are solo travellers! I just LOVE airports and airplanes and being on the End It Dragons Shirt But I will love this go to somewhere. Idk what it is Omg same! I know most find airports stressful – and in some ways they are – but I love the hustle and bustle and the possibilities! I love seeing where else all the planes are going. I’m in the US and love being in airports abroad that go to so many places that I can’t get to directly from my home airport. I’m a woman, I solo travel. I only started at the age of 41, eleven years later I’ve been to 28 countries solo with another two booked. I’m kicking myself for not starting the solo adventuring years ago so I had more time to go to more places. 35 years ago, the day after graduating college, I was on a plane to backpack Europe solo. Best education I ever got. Today you have internet and all manner of travel resources that make it easy in ways we could not have imagined.
Most of Europe is very safe… Funny thing is..I was just thinking the End It Dragons Shirt But I will love this same thing… I love travelling but most of my friends are already coupled up, and my bf doesn’t like / can’t afford travelling either… I travel on my own in Europe and I was just thinking of going to Canada, but thought it might be too ‘dangerous’ on my own.. so if you feel safe living in Canada, then Europe will be a piece of cake for you 😀 My one piece of advice for your peace of mind (I don’t want to scare you – I travel solo), but is to make sure you have back ups of stuff/stuff separated. When you travel with friends, if you lose your wallet, etc. a friend can help. So my advice is just don’t leave ALL your money and credit cards in one spot. I keep one in my bag, one in my purse, if it’s a high pickpocket zone, one in my bra etc. and I usually print hotel resos/a small map or details for those in case I lose my phone. But I truly am saying that to prep you and not scare you. I am a” better safe than sorry” person, and I’d rather you prepared then have something go wrong and be turned off from solo travel!
best thing to do is to GO BY YOURSELF. i was in the End It Dragons Shirt But I will love this same boat and then last year i got tired of waiting around for others to actually go through with the plans. i was 26 and extremely introverted but found no problems staying in hostels nor did i ever feel really unsafe or lonely. i met so many kind souls in hostels around the world, it’s usually very easy bc there’s a lot of young solo travelers and maybe even organized group activities. i’d say just go and don’t overthink it, but still do your research as to how safe the destination is or what the culture’s like and read about female travelers experiences there. for my first time i chose Bali and had the most wonderful experience. Hope you get one too.
Totally go by yourself. Find cheap airfare to places in off-season. When I was 20 (1999), 3 high school friends and I decided to go to Europe. They talke with their parents who talked with their travel agents, no of which who’d ever traveled to Europe before. It was decided that we could survive for 2 weeks on a budget of $3,500 US. We’d rent a car, stay at Americanized hotels and restaurants, and it would all be planned by the parents’ travel agents.
I could have backed out because I didn’t have the End It Dragons Shirt But I will love this money. Instead I took a semester off from university, got a 2nd job and worked full-time hours at both. I saved but still struggled to get to $3,500. I wasn’t able to pay my friends my share when their travel agent needed it. As luck would have it, I came a cross a book by “some guy” named Rick Steves. No one thought it was possible to do so for $3,500. (my own parents were 100% in support) So, I bought a backpack, Eurail pass, and money belt. I told my friends I’d stick with them for the first two weeks, but while they would be in hotels and renting a car, I would be staying in Hostels and using the trains.
