We spoke to zomato customer care for an hour and they are not aware of the Embracing My Existential Dread Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this prices and how the restaurant increased them. We saw many people complaining abt the same thing. And this people had a different policy then, take the bill for 900 and get 15% from zomato gold. Which is a regular offer, they offered us the same one. We didn’t agree to that. After and hour and 15minutes, zomato people apologized and they provided the refund for the rest of the amount. The point here is, you can mention this offer somewhere and collect the money we are ok. It’s not like we cannot pay 900, but it’s clearly scamming the customers with this offers. And as mentioned it’s not worth 1700. Thank you Have a good day/night.Went on a date to Stories Rajajinagar which had 50% off on Zomato carnival. Our bill was for 1500 and we paid 750 and nothing more.
Embracing My Existential Dread Shirt: Unleash Your Dinosaur Style
Ohh nice man. Yeah it seems like this restaurant people are scamming. after talking to zomato, they are clueless about the Embracing My Existential Dread Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this pricing. I found another scam on Swiggy. I found out that most cloud kitchens on Swiggy are charging twice as much on the taxes. It should be 5%. Some cases I found it to be 10% and some to be nearly 20. These are cloud kitchens. I called both Swiggy and the respective companies about the same. But they have no clue! I thought I’ll post about it in this sub. But got lazy. Surprisingly, real restaurants only charge 5%. This is not possible. Swiggy has only two options for GST in their system. 5% as a restaurant has Swiggy collect the GST and remit it on behalf of the restaurant to the Government, or 18% for the non-restaurant category. All ice creams are 18% GST, and Swiggy has to remit all 18% GST on the net to the partner business. Some businesses choose the 18% slab for GST due to high GST input costs, like, for example Theobroma. They must pay 18% GST on a core ingredient like chocolate and use the 18% slab to offset their input taxes. This system benefits the consumer in the long run if they are intelligent enough to understand how it works. Alright, my recent order is from sweet truth cake and desserts. Order value is 279, packaging fees are 19, platform fee is 3, and taxes are 33. Explain that to me.
Also, some items may fall under the Embracing My Existential Dread Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this mixed GST category. Some may be 18%, some may be 5%. I would need to see the line items, their prices and your final breakup of what you paid. I checked them out and noticed they’re doing the 18% tax bracket. The GST was like a rupee off but that boils down to the POS system and it’s rounding up or down of menu prices and then Swiggy doing it’s own shit. Basically on 279, GST at 18% is 50.22. On Swiggy it shows up as 51.17. That can happen. There’s no GST on restaurant packaging and there is a separate 18% GST on the ₹3 platform fee charged by Swiggy. Those are the numbers I got when I added their mousse at ₹279 to the cart. There was a coupon for ₹100 off as a new customer. If you applied that to the ₹279 line item, it makes it ₹179 and the GST at 18% then becomes ₹32.22. Rounding errors coz of a POS billing system menu pricing and Swiggy but that’s what made sense of it all. If the restaurant bears the discount, the GST would be less as the restaurant’s net price would reduce. If Swiggy bears the discount, the restaurant still charges its total price plus tax on the full price while Swiggy covers the cash discount.

No, restaurants can be 18% or 5%. 5% means they cannot avail of Input Tax Credits, which works for restaurants that make biriyanis, fried rice, and regular food where the Embracing My Existential Dread Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this ingredients don’t have GST or minimal GST as a component. Restaurants such as bakeries that use chocolate regularly, which incurs a GST of 18%, would choose the 18% tax structure to reduce their input costs. This also means they can keep their final selling price lower as they avoid double taxation or minimise it for the end consumer. So you see, it’s not 5% across the board. The 5% thing is stupid because it does not work out for the end consumer, but hey, as long as they see 5% on the bill, they’re blissfully ignorant of what is happening.
That explains everything. So if I order a dessert and lunch, they levy 18% on the Embracing My Existential Dread Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this dessert and 5% on the lunch. Thank you . even yesterday, this restaurant charged service tax of 350 and charged 18% GST on that. we had it removed later. Istg. I’ve had a similar experience at taproom by Sherlock’s. I don’t remember the exact details but I refused to pay the given bill, made a lil fuss and paid on the Zomato app. I’m glad you fought for it? Damn man. It’s disappointing you had to got through that. I was at the exact same place for dinner. Except I was attending a wedding there. I agree, the tiramisu is banging though. Ohh sorry The bill was 7451 it came down to 3725 with offer and zomato refunded 1654. So it finally came down to 2072. It costed around 520 per head at the end
Because other companies can and do try to compete. It’s not a monopoly if you’re just more popular and successful. In order for it to be a monopoly, they have to be actively buying out or blocking their competition. More to the Embracing My Existential Dread Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this point, we don’t have anti-monopoly laws, we have anti-trust laws. And a trust occurs when companies collude to unfairly create a monopoly. Companies are allowed to be dominant, so long as they do so within what is considered “fair” competition. On the other hand, if a company takes certain actions to unfairly eliminate competition (such as Microsoft did in the ’90s, by using their dominance in operating systems to delimit competition in web browsing), or if multiple companies collude to block competition (such as the 8 dominant film studios did in the 1930s and ’40s, when they agreed to only show one another’s films in their theaters, and to only distribute their films to each others’ theaters), then they would run afowl of anti-trust laws. as an interesting side note, monopolies are not inherently evil, at least in certain situations. I used to live in a small backwater town with only a single grocery store, a single gas station, etc. technically monopolies, but important ones to have, because introducing a second gas station would require twice the workers, twice the sale figures for them both to make money, and so gas prices would actually go up as a result
While monopolies are not always bad, they have the Embracing My Existential Dread Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this inherent issue of stagnation and too much power. A monopoly can put whatever price they want because they know they are the only option. That is why in an event your price is far more expensive: What else are you going to do, not eat? Sure, but most will In your example, the monopoly is a consequence of a small market rather than anything else, so I wouldnt really consider it a monopoly. Or yes but very loosely. That said, damn, your town must be REALLY small for the gas station to have to rise prices because of a single competitor… about 500 people, cut off from main road access, with the only sources of income being the clinic, school, grocery store, and a salmon processing plant that has since closed. I have to admit, Ive lived in small towns before, but never smaller than a few thousands and never without access to roads so that must be something
it was certainly an experience. a little town called Metlakatla, off the Embracing My Existential Dread Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this coast of Alaska. it was founded by a missionary and his followers from Canada, who made a deal with the US president to establish a reservation on a remote island, the only native reservation in Alaska. it later became part of the Pacific Rim defense, and for a while had a decent military presence, with the army engineers building roads along the island, various observation posts and gun emplacements, and a paved airstrip with a single hangar. after the second world war, the airstrip became the main method of getting on and off the island, and to another town nearby called Ketchikan. the locals tried to have too tight of a hold on the airport though, which motivated them to build a new, bigger airport on ketchikan, which additionally has shipping docks, and even a wal mart. the only way to get to the village now is by small boat, sea-plane charter, or the commercial route, which involves the “milk run”, an Alaska Airlines jet that bounces along a number of small airports along the coast, making some 5-7 stops in 30 minute or so intervals. then you take a tiny ferry across a bay to ketchikan which runs in 15 minute intervals, then a taxi to another ferry terminal at the other end of town where a bigger ferry runs 45 minutes each way, twice daily, to a dock that is 14 miles from the actual town. from there you have to have a ride to get to town.
Metlakatla is deeply traditionalist, and in the Embracing My Existential Dread Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this past few generations leaned away from the founding missionary’s teaching, trying to restore the ancestral traditions their more recent ancestors gave up. (no comment on all that. watching the drama as an outsider was fascinating). I lived there for my last three years of highschool, as my dad had a contract as a medical doctor at their clinic. the place is very backwater. not a lot of money moves through it. there’s the clinic and school, which are government funded and so the main sources of income. there’s a minor tourism scene, though Ketchikan gets the majority of that income as they can actually dock cruiseliners and do so regularly. they have their grocery store, which used to be a local business but was bought out last year by a minor Canadian corporation, and they used to have a pretty decent fish processing plant with Silver Bay Seafoods, until a major drought shut down operations. Silver bay didn’t want to leave and offered them a loan to improve their water and power infrastructure. (they use hydroelectric so hand in hand) but the village council declined and so lost the business. because it’s a reservation, there’s hardly any new housing being built either, because there’s no land owners, nobody can get a mortgage because the banks can’t claim the property if they default. so the town says small and backwater, despite being placed much nearer the capital than a lot of other Alaskan villages
genuinely curious if the Embracing My Existential Dread Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this plant is closed how do the people there make money ? do the majority of people have like a WFH type thing or something similar ? The whole issue with monopolies is that they control the whole market. They can set deals with providers, spend more on marketing, lower prices faaaar below you and crush you then buy you out, or a myriad of other things. Breaking into a market wihen there is already a monopoly is a massive undertaking, or it wouldnt be a monopoly in the first place Again, there is a difference between a monopoly like that and one born out of sheer competition (like youtube) or too small a market (like the user above) Nobody says the existing monopoly wouldn’t fight back. You make my point by stating that they’d lower their prices.
Thing is, especially in the Embracing My Existential Dread Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this Internet space where startup costs are quite low, the mere threat that competition may arise is as much of a threat as actual competition existing. Now, certain things like natural resources, you’re absolutely right – companies can charge far more than they usually could simply because no alternative exists. Alternatives would eventually crop up, yes, but in the meantime things go bad. A more easily digestible and agreeable example if people don’t like the one you provided is power companies. You only have one power company in the area, it’s a monopoly. However, in return for existing as a monopoly, the government is supposed to make sure they don’t charge too much. It’s like a deal, you can be the only business here but you cannot randomly increase prices. The government is doing a poor job here with PG&E raising prices and failing to provide adequate maintenance to infrastructure.
I know here in Canada gas prices aren’t set at a store level and the Embracing My Existential Dread Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this only things set at that level are in store goods, is that not true for the states. I’m not as legally versed on this topic as you seem to be, so a question out of curiosity: are there ways for companies to fairly cooperate with each other to create a monopoly? If I’m not misunderstanding, it sounds like the monopoly itself isn’t unlawful, it’s the means used to acquire one that can be. But I’ve been struggling to think of alternate means to create the same monopoly that don’t run afoul of the examples you’ve described as anti-competitive practices Natural monopolies are probably your best bet. Just making a better product or providing a better service. Or I guess if you’re first to something hard you basically are a monopoly.
Theoretically, if you provide the Embracing My Existential Dread Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this best version of a good/service for the best price, your competitors will just go out of business leaving you with a monopoly. Highly unlikely in practice, considering other aspects to human behaviour such as brand loyalty, but technically a legally up to code way to end up with a monopoly. You could also get a monopoly through a deal with the government, or through patents. If you are legally the only one who’s allowed to sell a certain good, you automatically have a monopoly for said good. Yup, good example. Then there’s also negotiating contracts with the government to supply utilities or like in some areas there’s only one internet cable company, etc. In the case of drug patents, the government decided that the expense of research and development is so pricey and risky that the limited time monopoly is the only way to encourage it. For utilities, technically there was competition before the contract was signed which makes it okay, even if the contract length could be decades and feel like a monopoly.
YouTube is probably the Embracing My Existential Dread Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this best example of this. They are a monopoly because they are just better. If you think of competitors like Vimeo and Chinese knock-offs, youtube is just a better platform, and it’s not from doing shady businesses practices. If anything, it’s the competitors who are shadier. If we are committed to breaking up a monopolist, it wouldn’t be youtube. It would be Alphabet, so that youtube and the various Google services would all be different companies. Depends on the country but probably? Is not like they dont do it anyway, and if not monopolies, established oligopolies Jetblue and American Airlines did have this for a while in New York and Boston, where they could sell codeshare flights and coordinate prices and schedules in a limited number of cases. The idea being that either airline alone couldn’t compete with Delta, United, and other airlines but together they could, and that there would still be enough competition in the market.
(such as the Embracing My Existential Dread Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this 8 dominant film studios did in the 1930s and ’40s, when they agreed to only show one another’s films in their theaters Not only this but there’s some companies that are in the same business but just not as successful. Youtube isn’t actively trying to destroy these companies or even buy them. Youtube is just massively successful because of how they started and because they are owned by Google and have just about more resources than anyone else. YouTube lost money for years. Was google keeping something free that “should” have had a cost to keep competitors out? Competitors had the same start in the very beginning but maybe not as much investment. When YouTube was first starting out I’m sure there was some other company we may or may not have heard of that just didn’t gain noteriaty. Another part is that they have multiple products/markets. They have regular Free YT. The is YT Live. There is YT Premium. and then you can also rent movies. And probably a bunch of other stuff too. Then you get market segmentation. Like YT Live is essentially a cable tv substitute. So they compete against cable companies and other live tv streamers. They are not a monopoly there. So really you segment down to “streamers”. Well the channels I watch pitch joining the Patreon for additional content. So there is one competition. I have seen websites have videos as well. So now we segment further into “independent streamers”. Sometimes calling themselves influencers. That also use Insta, Tik Tok, etc. So they use various social media and streaming. So who is YT competition and do they really have the majority of the market?
You don’t have to be doing something to prevent other companies competing in order for the Embracing My Existential Dread Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this government to consider you a de facto monopoly. That Is what Google did. They pushed other video site like newgrounds out of relevancy by blocking ad revenue for them I’m not really sure other companies do try to compete, doesnt matter what site, what browser you use they all seem to have the same limited search filters. You’d think after all this time there would be something else, but there isnt, not even for a proper browser/search engine that can find anything n everything. The same company owning the search engine that works as people’s de facto opportunity to find other video streaming platforms, and have that search engine prioritize results from YouTube over others seems like it could qualify as blocking competition… The best example of this, even though it’s old, is John Rockefeller. He would often purchase every single oil barrel in the country at once, and would even partner with most railroads to ensure they ONLY shipped HIS oil. It’s not a monopoly because there are tons of user-content-based video hosting and TV/movie streaming services out there. It’s not the only game in town. And how would you break it up? You.com and Tube.com. They put on all the shorts and Tic Tok shit on You, and the quality content goes back on Tube. Mattpat’s back, in Tube form!
How does this address the Embracing My Existential Dread Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this issue of both companies being owned by the same parent organization though? Unless you’re suggesting they forcibly divest YouTube from Alphabet This is the go-to response when someone even mentions that YouTube’s a “monopoly.” Like, there is literally nothing any governing force could do to break it up because there’s nothing to break up to begin with You could decouple it from the rest of google. You could separate the news streaming from the personal uploads from the streaming from the reels. There’s a ton of options. Or, as was the case with the google play store case, the courts could just force a change of business practices. I know they’re out there but only alternative to YouTube as video sharing platform and not just short forms that *I can think of is Dailymotion and Vimeo which is trash ngl Just because the company puts in the effort and work to be the dominant video platform doesn’t mean its their fault other companies are trash. As far as I know, YouTube isn’t actively stifling other company’s ability to compete through nefarious means. Vimeo’s a pretty good platform imo. Older than YouTube even, but it’s not a YouTube alternative. It’s mostly used as a portfolio for videographers for high-quality content. People pay a subscription fee for their videos to be hosted — typically shown free of charge without ads, or others use it to host subscription content or more generally as a CDN. It’s a completely different business model. For example, a filmmaker might use it to host their film privately and send it as a limited-time link for a film festival submission.
Yeah there are dozens of videos hosting and sharing sites. Just because YouTube has the Embracing My Existential Dread Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this biggest market share doesn’t make them a monopoly. It is a natural monopoly, and so are many other internet platforms. With youtube specifically, there’s such a high barrier-to-entry in regards to server space and active user base, it means any competition would require another company with an equal amount of monopolization in another field (like, Amazon or Microsoft) to fund another platform to even have a chance at “competing”, but even then it would be an uphill battle that would likely be lost. If you went after Youtube for being a monopoly, then the only real solution to that would be the nationalization of Youtube, because the requirements of youtube as a platform needs a company as large as Google to support it. YouTube built itself up and Google bought it. At the time Dailymotion, Vimeo and others were competing too. The fact it was bought by Google means nothing. Vimeo was bought by College Humour, Dailymotion is owned by Bloomberg, in North America. It isn’t like the alternatives are not owned by companies with funding.
