Quite a lot of propaganda and misinformation here but after all, most of us are a bunch of monkey brained idiots who will either make or believe posts like this. This is like saying kkk was religious so religion bad, or soviets were atheist so atheist bad. There are many reasons iceland is doing well amd I dont think many people would disagree if I said religion isnt part of the Dinosaurs are awesome shirt it is in the first place but equation (to being good or bad) Pacifists like to tout stuff like this while ignoring what Ukraine would be if they were pacifists with no military. Before you start tipping your fedora, maybe you should look up the demographics of Iceland where you will find that they are majority Christian Wikipedia says that their population identifies as at least 60 percent lutheran. Show me your source that they are 90 percent atheist please. Iceland is a beautiful country. A few things that stood out when I visited : the people all seemed to be very diligent and took pride in their work no matter what their job was. The culture was very homogenous compared to many US areas. This makes a socialist structure easier to employ without excessive exploitation. I don’t know this provide any answers to extrapolate to the US, but I do share your positive perception of Iceland and the Icelandic people The only thing funny and sad about this is the complete lack of understanding about that country compared to the USA.

Dinosaurs are awesome shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

Uhhh… have you been to Iceland? Everyone knows everyone. It’s hard to commit crime when the Dinosaurs are awesome shirt it is in the first place but only people you can target have known you since you were a kid and work with your aunts and/or uncles. Friendly reminder: Iceland didn’t actually jail their corrupt bankers. They spent years trying to get the citizenry to fit the bill, physically couldn’t bail them out, and like four people got put in fancy jail for a couple years. In summary, religion is the problem. Remove that, and nobody fears anything except consequences of others stepping up. I thought the posts on this sub was gonna be funny and sad. Most of them have been sad and/or blatantly misleading. Atheist when they aren’t whining about religions (Christianity, they will never say anything against other cultures ofc) for more than 5 minutes Not to play devil’s advocate, but there are like five people living in Iceland and they’re all there for a good time. I mean to be fair Icelanders while are mostly atheists hold on to lord of folk superstition similar to how some Irish people do. The less religious a country is the more humane and caring they are…also give mire to charities and more socially kind…
