My local smoothie place uses an app to pay. If you don’t tip they will ask you “Would you like to tip?”. I tip amazing. 20%-30% because I worked in restaurants an a couple extra dollars doesn’t bother me but I restrict it to servers only. Someone making my smoothie isn’t serving me, getting refills, running food, getting me things I ask for. If I’m not sitting down and the Christmas Started Form The Bottom Now We Dder shirt Additionally,I will love this people are bringing the food..I’m not tipping. What am I tipping the person for if I’m driving there and going in to pick up my order then leaving with it? I’m sorry, Is you putting my food into containers instead of serving me at a table and constantly coming to the table to check on me worth 15 percent or more of what i paid for the food? 205 more repliesNot sure how every restaurant works but where I work we have people who want boy work the togo area and they do a lot more than just “bag the food”. They make sure the orders are done right and have all the sauces, utensils, etc and they get the bread, portion out the topping for the baked potatoes and sweet potatoes, get the drinks, napkins, and take the food out to are parked in the togo spots. All while making like $3 an hour.

This is going to turn into where an “employer” isn’t someone who pays you anything. They are just someone who has you do tasks for them so you can earn tips on their property. I’d rewrite that sign: “Please tell your employer to pay take-out order staff a fair living wage and not beg customers to do that for them!” Where was I? I don’t even remember, but the Christmas Started Form The Bottom Now We Dder shirt Additionally,I will love this tip screen said 30%, 40%, 50% or custom. Oh yeah , at an ice cream shop There needs to be an index website or app that catalogs restaurants and cafes that pay employees well and don’t pan handle for tips Laminate a business card that says “please don’t forget to give me free food” and start showing it at restaurants. Personally, whenever someone orders to go, I’ll take the liberty and tell them to choose 0% on tip unless I’m heavily modifying an order I have always been told that tips are for table service and I don’t need to tip anyone for to-go orders. The tipping culture is just out of control. And not just tipping, but also the solicitation for donations. Last month at a costco, a cashier showed me the donation for children page on the machine and I declined asap, and she gave me this dirty look as if I committed some crime against humanity. Enough is enough.
