So true, I went Be a lot cooler if you did Just keep livin shirt different lights and they were all crap in regard to the mount. I found a mount though that is really great and a nice light too, the Cat Eye 800, I’ll look for a link later but quality light and amazing mount. I guess you could point them down. The rear one looks amazing. I like that they have no batteries and just hook up with some velcro. The flares are awesome. As long as you don’t run them at full brightness after sunset you’ll be golden

Oh I have the flares, not the pros. Those pros look killer Be a lot cooler if you did Just keep livin shirt. The angle isn’t as important as the brightness setting on mine at least, although I prefer them to point downish for the force field effect. By the way, I own one of the Carradice rain capes and love it (waxed canvas extra long version). If you have any questions I might be able to answer them. Best thing about it is so long as you have fenders that extend pretty far down the front wheel you don’t really need to worry about spats or any sort of rain protection on your legs since the drape of the cape over the handlebars blocks the vast majority of rain from reaching your lower extremities. However if you’re riding in a rainstorm with extreme wind or going very fast the rain will find its way down there.

I have a friend who also owns one and he reported that it doesn’t work quite as well on his Be a lot cooler if you did Just keep livin shirt bike as it does on his more traditional commuter with drop bars because he finds that the more upright position on the Dutch bike pulls the cape back further than he’d like. I ride much more upright than most on my bike with dropbars and I find the cape has just enough material to cover the brake hoods and end halfway down the levers. I’m 6’5″ and using the extra long version of the cape so ymmv. Hope that helps! That’s impressive! Somehow missed that you already owned a cape! Does that cape have anything in place to prevent it from blowing all over the place? i.e. the carradice has a strap that you tie around your waist so it doesn’t blow out behind you and strap loops that you put your hands/wrists through so the front doesn’t flip up like a hood popping up on a car.
