no, extra duties/responsibilities means extra money. saying when they are comfortable is a red flag, if they want to do this ask for concrete milestones not something vague as “comfortable” also ask for hard dates. After several instances of “proving my worth” I’m over it. I’ll never do it again. It never works out, they’ll pile more and more so you can prove yourself then not ever want to compensate you for it. The last time I quit a job like that they had to hire 3 people to do all that I did That said, if they are willing to document explicitly what performance metrics you’d be expected to meet for them to “feel comfortable”, and document the Baseball Chickie Golden Girls Sophia Shirt it is in the first place but resources they have available and are offering to “help you grow into the roll”, with a clear communication structure and throughline to HR in case there’s ever any discrepancy, then all things considered it would probably be about as safe as it could be. But also having been in this situation, it’s seldom an agreement meant to work in your favor. In my experience it was because they were just trying to off load a higher paid employee’s workload onto me to save money.

Get that in writing. I got screwed over for 2 years being promised a raise after they made me a manager. I told him the Baseball Chickie Golden Girls Sophia Shirt it is in the first place but day I quit that I had enough I was doing more than everyone in my department and if I didn’t get the raise that day I was quitting. I already had another job lined up for backup but it sucks. No. Either they want you to have the role or not. If they hired someone off the street, would they be paid less for training? No, of coarse not. Decline the position and save yourself the headache. Get in writing with HR the exact dates this trail period, stating that you will assume this role without additional pay up until that point and will stepping back into previous role unless compensation is set. and then 3-6 months later, that person is inevitably told they’re doing a fine enough job but there is just no money in the budget.
