Not to say your story isn’t meaningful, but just to be fair… At 11 kids still struggle with managing their own emotions and life, so it’s not that crazy to think he didn’t know how to handle the Awesome the Is Back You Ooze You Lose shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this situation, but still had enough understanding to show support during an awareness day. Like I know I was pretty bad at knowing what to do to comfort someone or handling being told something like that when I was younger. Even in high school I remember getting to be better friends with someone and hanging out at his place a few times. I knew he had a brother and sister (pictures around the house) and had heard stories about his brother, but not much about his sister. So I just randomly asked once and that’s when I found out his sister had died. All I could do was awkwardly say “oh… Sorry…”, and that was in high school. Yeah he isn’t a bad person at all and we still talk every now and then. It was quite an isolating experience though to be going through something like that at home while it was just a fun day for my peers

Idk I have a hard time moving past “allowing African children to die to make money on formula” but you, again, make a good point That is the way they do it. They don’t need to take water away from third world countries, yet they do because it is cheaper. Whomever keeps the cost of life-saving medicines like insulin so exorbitantly high. People shouldn’t be driven to poverty just for surviving. Turbo tax, h&r block, etc, lobbying the government and making sure us citizens need to keep using them instead of letting the government do our taxes themselves My dad worked for the IRS for a while a long time ago checking yearly tax forms; he said they always did H&R Block last because they insisted on using their own weird format. Damn. I had literally never thought about it that way. We could genuinely just divert all IRS efforts to actually doing citizens’ taxes instead of having a whole government agency devoted to nitpicking. that’s….that’s what normal countries do…you go the tax office, and they tell you how much you need to pay. Or, it’s just automatically deducted from your paycheck.
