Breeders charging a bunch of money is actually a red flag. A good breeder might charge 2-3k a dog, though every breed has a standard and some are more. If a breeder is charging much more than standard, there is no chance they are ethical. Whilst I’m knackered for wages as a public sector worker, even before my Tech Software Dev Wizard partner went self-employed, he was only earning 40k after 10+ years of experience in the field. It’s kind of wild compared to the US equivalents, but it’s the highest wage I’ve heard of anyone having whilst under age 40 in my area.
